Everything is a Project - Including Producing Videos for PMI-Portland

Starting in September, 2015, I began making short videos for PMI-Portland. My first project: the 2015 Annual Convention. Sherry Morisch was an excellent interviewer. I added titles, rolling credits at the end, and rock music.

Since then, I've created several videos for the chapter.

Last night, at the monthly meeting of PMI-Portland, I was chosen as a Volunteer of the Month. They gave me this cool, engraved crystal block.

I produce each video as a project:

  • Goal: What emotion do you want the viewers to feel? When do you want it?
  • Plan: What shots will I need? In what sequence? Lavalier or hand-held microphone?
  • Execute: Follow my workflow. Shoot the video clips. Edit each one. Combine them in the right sequence. Add text and rolling credits. Add music.
  • Monitor and Control: Remember to follow my defined workflow. Preview the finished product. Release it to the person who ordered it.
  • Close: Party time.
